I mean, I get it too (Gaming)

There will be a disruptor who provides better value. Change will come.

This is where you are wrong. There is too much consolidation, and too little competition. Too much lock in. That is why things are the way they are. You cannot rely on anyone but the people buying the game to force change.

Am I? When has there not been disruptors? When has there not been change? Every year there are games that surprise, a Baldur's Gate, something. There are big corporations that were winning that are now losing. I can't believe that on a Destiny forum, just days away from Bungie dropping support for Destiny, you're arguing that things are static. If the audience isn't having fun, they quit. They find other ways to spend their time. Isn't that obvious? I believe in the invisible hand. I think you believe in the moral superiority of your hand guided by some platonic ideal of gaming that must be achieved else no self-respecting person should play it. The gaming business is doing terribly. Why? Competition. Not just from games, but from everything else. Yet, someone somewhere, who could be from a big or a small studio, is today working on a game that will be a hit tomorrow. Mark my words.
