Nevermind (Gaming)
Accounts are for tracking digital game purchases, and trophies right? I could very easily live without either.
Also needed for trust and safety enforcement. No accountability if there is no identity permanence and it is not connected to anything personal. Depending on region there are also legal requirements around age verification.
The big issue is that I doubt this can be played without the internet (in this case Cody is right to complain) but with this connection comes a lot of requirements. This is what I'm getting at. This solution is inelegant, but it might be all they could implement with the time and resources they had. They'll lose the Puritans like Cody, but most people will just jump through the hoops so they can play.
Meanwhile I'm over here still at little stunned that it is possible and happening.
