The Precursors look shiny and new because, in their time, they have just been built. They are, truly, a few of the first Vex ever. The Descendants are mossy and old because, in their time, it has been quite a while since a Vex was last built.

Then why are the designs all different? Doesn't that indicate they are literally different generations?
