There's certainly a multitude of reasons Destiny seems to have lost its luster, I think for both game design reasons and human reasons. I know I still get joy from playing it, but 10 years is a long time to play just one thing (that's about how long Halo lasted for me too). The difference this time is I'm not sure what will replace it. Perhaps not even a video game.
