I was on it for the journey. Gameplay was almost always fun. There were a variety of activities such as dungeons, raids and nightfall strikes that offered some fun challenges. Hanging out with y'all added a ton of enjoyment to the hobby. I think I'm overestimating when I say it cost me about $100 for the expansions/seasons and I got my money's worth. That roughly $1000 by the end. I've spent that kind of money on hobbies that never panned out/ didn't give me that level of return in the form of joy. The story had some highs and some pretty deep lows but I was invested in seeing how everything turned out. There were always just enough good things going that I was willing to see if they pulled it off. That last season leading into The Final Shape was just so much fun and I thought they nailed the ending. I still had my critiques but it was a satisfying journey for me.

But... 10 years is a long time to be doing the same thing. I think they could have condensed it into 5 years and given us better value in the story department but that's another topic. I may jump onto a new journey in that world if it has a much shorter arc to it's conclusion, but I'm happy with it as I reflect on my experience as of now. I have no idea if they're going to make things worse by adding to it and there's a big part of me that wants to end on a high note.
