Good post. (Destiny)
I just don't see it. I mean, I hope you're right, but to me it seems that the version of Bungie which collaborated on Xbox Live is long dead.
I don't want to be a complete Negative Nancy, though. There are still a lot of very talented developers working at Bungie and the studio has a number of clear strengths. Gunplay and sandbox design remain Destiny's core assets, and the PvE content is still very enjoyable and well-designed overall (in my personal opinion, natch -- and with particular emphasis on the word "overall"), but frankly the PvP sucks and has been completely neglected by Bungie for years at this point. With that in mind, my optimism for Marathon is non-existent. It represents a complete 180 from the direction I would personally like to see Bungie explore.
