Buy vendor armor. It goes to 33 light now. You can get boots and gloves without commendations. Max out crucible and vanguard marks so you can mix and match. You should be able to get to 31 this week actually by buying 2 pieces from each. 30 should be no problem.

This is what I did. And if you upgrade an Exotic tomorrow you should be able to get it to 36 light.
