It wasn't body shots, it looked like 3 shots to pop the shield then a headshot. Note all the headshot bonuses in the kill points.

Also, most of the players are not even looking at him, and don't start firing back until he's already landed 3 shots. When they do start shooting him first he seems to die quickly enough.

If he could kill them before they could whittle him down with a good mid range assault rifle then I would be more alarmed, but it seems he was just picking on people who didn't know how to play more then anything else.
