You can't play together across generations. Xbox 360 players can only play with Xbox 360 players, etc.

Yeah, they clarified this in the most recent Weekly Update. I'm surprised the option is even there... that almost seems (to me) to suggest that Bungie had considered it/worked on it at some point, but forgot to remove it from the game for the Beta build. Unless there's no way for them to know because of the way that Xbox Live reports friends playing XBO games on your friends list and doesn't really clarify which platform they are on...

Can you create an XBL Party that is cross platform and use voice chat?
