Understanding how Destiny will play

This is NOT meant to diminish the excitement for Destiny in any way, nor is this any kind of intentional flame bait. Totally sincere.

I don't know, if true this is going to be very disappointing. I don't recall anybody ever saying anything like 'Myth will be very much like xxxx' or 'Halo looks a lot like yyyyy'. Most of Bungie's games were kind of their own thing that other later games were compared to, not the other way around. The ones that weren't (Marathon being compared to Doom) were at last compared to groundbreaking good games, rather than the bland garbage that is bored-er-lands. If you are inspired, shouldn't you at least be inspired by good shit?
