Stages (Destiny)

When I put on Destiny, I always think--okay, have to do the Daily Heroic, then I have to try and get some quests done, then bounties, then I have to focus on Calcified Fragments,

I got into that habit as well, but I think that's supposed to end around the time you start raiding regularly.

If you've gotten your share of legendary swords, and perhaps an Exotic one, I don't think you really need to worry about fragments anymore, unless you really want that shader.

Bounties, quests and daily/weekly activities are great for levelling up gear you want to keep, but they aren't going to give you much of anything once you're at a light level to do the raid-- especially hard mode and challenges. If you've got a big stack of motes, you don't even need them for that.

then I have to find a group who wants to do Raid 1/Raid 2/Prison with me, then try to do that on my own...the quests I have left are (almost) all mutliplayer, and even though I hate multiplayer, I don't want to give up. But it just becomes a job rather than a game.

Don't do things you find unfun just to check a box on a list. I don't like competitive multiplayer in general (partly because of my minimum 200ms ping) but I've done a bit of it just to get certain weapons, but that's the only reason.

At this point if I'm on doing anything other than a raid, it's probably because I'm waiting for a raid to start or because I just finished one. I think the problem is considering finding those other activities boring and/or unrewarding at this point, instead of recognizing that we're just supposed to stop doing them. They are there for players at a different stage in their experience of the game.
