Just a gentle reminder that the deadline for the first round of Ragashingo's awesome Fan Fiction project, No Longer Neglected, is coming up on Friday. We'd love to hear some stories, and there are some really great prizes to be won, so get in there and let us hear about your Guardian's origin story!
Out of the darkness, he emerged, his mind naked in the dark. There was a light ahead, like a lantern on the trail, rolling and dipping toward him through a starless night."
Since last we mentioned iconicbanana's latest foray into short prose, he's released parts 3, 4, and 5 of The Lonely Fall of Andal Brask. Busy guy!
He's collected all the links to the series in one handy post here in our forum. Easy way to catch up and enjoy the story uninterrupted!
Just a quick note to say that iconicbanana posted part 2 of his The Lonely Fall of Andal Brask story. I think it's time we start dusting off our Fan Fiction section, what do you say?
It looks like a storytelling bug is starting to go around in the forums! iconicbanana follows up his Eris Origins storyline with a new piece of fiction, The Lonely Fall of Andal Brask: Part 1, and Dagoonite has started his own storyline with two new pieces, The Lost Exo and What Was Unsaid. Go check them out and let them know what you think; I love seeing these community creations!
Just a quick note to say that iconicbanana posted the final installment of his Eris Origins storyline today. Go check it out!
As we mentioned yesterday, iconicbanana's Eris Origins fanfiction is getting rave reviews in the DBO forums. It's already pushed ahead with part 3 and part 4. Go read something creative!
DBO regular iconicbanana has decided to lift the dark veil on Eris and expand on the mysteries of her past with some interesting short prose. You can read Part 1 and Part 2 in our forum.
Ragashingo's been hard at work crafting new stories for us to read. He submitted four new installments last week that introduce us to new characters and begin to build a latticework of connections to others we've already met.
Go read! Thanks to a delightful case of West Nile (thank you, Mother Nature), I've gotten behind again on the fan fiction queue. Ragashingo's been busy, in the meantime, and has submitted three new pieces. The first, "No Longer Afraid", appeared on our forum a couple of weeks ago and follows up on one of the characters he introduced a while back. Fair warning: the ending is a wee bit... dark. (I quite liked it.) The next two, "Little Lights in the Darkness" Parts One and Two, follow the origins of a new Guardian, driven by a need to protect her sister. All are high quality reading, so go check 'em out!
The fan fiction queue has been quieter lately, but PerseusSpartacus submitted the next chapter of his Introversion in the Key of D Minor series. Go have a read!
Somehow this got lost in the weekend shuffle, but the Destiny Dispatch crew finally released their fan fiction collection "Become Legend" for download. The eBook is packed with 21 community-written stories interspersed with some awesome fan art from a few names you might be familiar with. Get the full story on this project (and where to find it) over at HDDispatch. (Thanks for the reminder, Hedge!)
Winners for the Christmas Fan Fiction contest have been announced in the forum! Go see if you're one of the lucky two, and be sure to read the entries in the original post if you haven't already. Thanks to Ragashingo for hosting the contest and congratulations to the winners!
Now that the holidays are past, I finally had time to look at the fan fiction queue. (I'm embarrassed to admit that a couple of stories have been sitting there for a little while.) We have three new items today: PerseusSpartacus continues his "Introversion on the Key of D Minor" series, kemachiro released the full-length version of "A Hunter's Journey" (and it's hefty, coming in at novella length), and Gilead contributed a charming story about a girl and her robot. Go read!
PerseusSpartacus contributed a new piece of fan fiction to the queue today, the first in a new series. It follows a fireteam of Guardians as they face down a horde of Hive. Go read!
Two new stories went up in the fan fiction site over the weekend. The first is the excellent Destiny: Birthright by Katsuhiro. The second is the first part of SirLock's Last Ones Standing. Go read!
Two new stories have been released from the queue for your Monday morning reading. First, WM has added the fifth installment of his Vanguards of Dead Orbit series -- lots of action! Next, Godshaker continues the Traxis saga and speculates on the nature of exotic weapons in Destiny. Grab a coffee and dive into some fan fiction!
There is a fresh infusion of fan fiction today. WM continues with Chapter Four in The Vanguards of Dead Orbit series, and kemachiro adds the next part in A Hunter's Journey. PerseusSpartacus then sets the stage for Destiny with Revival of the Past. Go read!
With the summer busyness, I've been neglecting the fan fiction queue, but I just released five new stories from storytime limbo. Ragashingo submitted a piece called These Imaginative Boots, kemachiro wrote the first part of A Hunter's Journey, and WM has turned in the first three chapters of The Vanguards of Dead Orbit ( 1 | 2 | 3 ). Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!
We still have a semi-regular stream of fan fiction flowing in for your weekend reading. Ragashingo posted another story earlier this week that speculates on a particularly nasty breed of Vex in A Helping Hand. Then, a Hunter delving into the icy moon of Enceladus stumbles across a completely different kind of guardian in The Guardian and the Archive. Go read!
Ragashingo added his story from The DBO Challenge Week 5 thread to the fan fiction archive. In it a group of Guardians discover a hidden vault on Mercury that raises more questions than it answers. Go read!
We had two new pieces of fan fiction submitted last night. roland wrote a story called Stellar Conjunction that gives a fascinating look at a possible origins story of the Destiny universe; and Mix continues his Destiny Awaits series, where his protagonist has an explosive encounter with the enigmatic Vex.
The Fan Fiction section is already starting to fill out nicely! Most of the stories that were originally posted on the forum have now been archived, and over the last few days, four new stories have been added. Go check 'em out!
Seems like everyone wants to get in on the Destiny fan fiction craze lately - TTL Demag0gue informed us of his own contribution, "Forward Unto Destiny". Check it out!
