I would be too skeptical to preorder, which means I'd be missing out on so much bonus content that I'd be better off waiting for the game of the year edition.. and by then all the bugs, like trapping people's consciousness in a life or death virtual world, would be patched up.

You answered my question, but what I meant to ask is: If you knew beforehand you were entering a virtual world like that one and you wouldn't be allowed to exit, would you?

I've been trying to find time to go fishing for 2 years now. Once you have a wife and kids, recreational activities like getting permanently trapped in a virtual world are off the table.
