So someone on Bungie.org was speculating that you might get a choice of a certain three if it triggers when you turn in Vanguard bounties, or another three if you turn in Crucible ones?

So in 11 Headshots and 6 Grenade kills, I'm going to turn in 10 Crucible bounties at once, and hopefully I can get the assignment for Super Good Advice.

But does anyone know if that guy had the right of it? All I know is that each Missive I've gotten, I got for Vanguard bounties, and they've all been Thorn/Bad Juju/Invective each time.

If anyone has conclusive evidence that it is random, though, I'd appreciate it. Or, put another way: have you gotten a different three choices for turning in the same variety of bounty?

False. I got the same Missive from turning in Crucible (and Iron Banner even) bounties as I did Vanguard. It's all random.

I'm pretty sure the 3 missives you get are always random, BUT I've noticed I got them more often when I turned in a bunch (5+) at once. Good luck!

Well I mean... if turning in a bounty has a random chance to trigger an exotic bounty, then yeah, probability would dictate that turning in 5 at once is more likely to yield an exotic bounty than turning in 1.

I still have some headshots, yet, but I randomly got Dragon's Breath in a Rumble match.

Yes. In fact, I have gotten both Super Good Advice and Pocket Infinity, and I don't do Crucible bounties at all. Ever.

Same. I rarely do Crucible bounties and between all the missives I've gotten, I've had all the bounties show up for me.

What console? You could probably find some people more than willing to assist, here.

I mean, I'd offer on 360; I don't have the bounty and I haven't ever done the special version of the Strike, but I'm level 30, so there's that.

I'm on PS4. I've done I once for myself, once more to help someone else, and will soon need to do it two more times for myself as I have two separate characters with the bounty at the moment.

No. I've gotten every exotic from the bounties offered, and all were from Vanguard Bounties. It's random. I got Super Good Advice from turning in Vanquards.

Not that I resent it, (I'll gladly cop to someone else being wrong) but I may as well put up a big sign saying "Myth Busted" already.

After getting Invective, Thorn, Bad Juju trio of bounties 5-6 times from Vanguard bounties, I finally got a new set of 3 last night when turning in a Eris bounty: Super Good Advice, Juju, and Pocket Infinity. (I chose SGA)
