Bungie.net update this afternoon (Destiny)

by JDQuackers ⌂ @, McMurray, PA, Thursday, July 17, 2014, 12:00 (3792 days ago)

So after the actual launch of the Beta at 1PM EST, and the initial crashing of b.net (http://i.imgur.com/B00nkC8.png)--it looks like the site has been updated further.

The biggest annoyance of b.net (in my opinion) has finally been fixed! You no longer have to sign-in every time you visit the page. My sessions now persist even after closing the browser, which is much better than before where you had to sign-in every time you closed the tab.

Can anyone who has started to play the beta click on their Profile and give a screen cap of what it looks like? Mine just has a giant banner (from Halo) on the top, which is where I'm guessing my Destiny character(s) info would normally go? It takes up half the page!

Wait, so that sign in thing wasn't just me then? I always did find it strange that the cookies for that were deleted after a very short amount of time. Glad it's finally fixed after soo long though.

As for the Destiny stuff, here's Duncan's profile: http://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/254/26975 Before, it was just the membership tab but it seems that with the release of the beta to everyone today, the user profile is also unlocked if that user has actually played the beta

*Slowly* Wow. This is... really cool. Also Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn? :D
As far as I can see on a preliminary basis, this is really well done. Good job! :)

(It seems you have to play first before the profile part turns on. I currently have only a membership tab)

Edit: That said the 3d isn't working for me right now. This being my first time seeing this I don't know if its my or Bungies end.

Mercury? I really hope so. It's part of the inner solar system but we haven't heard much about it. Same for Jupiter and Saturn aside from some concept art for a base on Europa. I would look up the image, but the media section of the About Destiny on the main site is not positioned right, again.

What 3D? On the Grimoire? Might just be you, I've got it working on this end.

What browser are you using? It's nicely centered in Chrome, but the page links are busted in Safari (they're underneath the background, it seems).

Chrome surprisingly. The section is centered on the page, but it's a bit too far down so the language selection and rating logo section are covering up the page selection. Sounds like what you're experiencing in Safari actually.

Edit: Same story in IE too.

Edit 2: I found that the class container_content gallery_content needs a CSS bottom argument of so and so pixels to bump it up a little. It should be there starting at line 8420 if I'm reading this inspect element tool right. Well, I hope that's it at least.

Was this with any login for you? That only happened for me with PSN. Asking purely out of curiosity.

I typically logged in with Google, and it was especially annoying with 2 factor authentication (until buckling and enabling the "remember this computer" option)

Sessions for bnet should NOT persist after closing the browser (although your signin to WLID, PSN, Facebook, or Google can). That being said, we did fix a few bugs that were prematurely signing you out (it should last 24 hours).

Yay! It's much less annoying than before. I appreciate the bug fixes :)
