Customs Night (I love a rainy night edition [Halo 3]) (Recruitment)

Like rain from a gray sky, Friday means you can expect Customs Night (and Wednesday means you can expect a sign-up post for it). Customs Night, for the unaware, is a weekly get-together held by Community Customs where we play custom games. Every Friday, we play custom and standard gametypes on custom maps (and occasionally a standard map or two), ranging from old to new, from complicated to simple, from competitive to silly, and from cramped to sparse. We do all this starting at 9:00 PM US Eastern time and continue until everyone or almost everyone is tired of playing. This week we're shaking things up a little bit and playing in Halo 3. If this sounds like fun, why not join us? You can do that by just replying to this post with your gamertag. If you do, you'll get a message when we're starting.

Things to keep in mind:

- we pretty much play whatever the people present want to play
- we don't run modded content (because of concern over the present and future risk of bans for it)
- one of the CC admins (ShadowoftheVoid, Gnrl Vagueness, iHyokin) will have party lead the whole time (to try to ensure fairness and consistency among other things)
- if you want to play something we don't have, you'll have to put it in your file share and tell us about it (or get someone else that has it in their file share to recommend it to one of us)
- we enjoy talking; it improves the experience of playing with people and it pretty much makes running this possible; so please, talk, but don't talk over anyone, OK?
- suggested things to bring with you: a map, a snack, a gametype, a story, a drink, a friend, a joke
- that time again is 9:00 PM EDT and the game is Halo 3-- I hope we see you then!

Also, we're considering changing our schedule (which is Reach on the first Friday of each month and Halo 4 the other Fridays)-- we already deviated from it to have Halo 3 this week, and we're considering rearranging Halo 4 and Reach and/or adding Halo 3 to the regular rotation, and possibly removing Halo 4. What do you think? While you're at it, what do you think about the 9:00 PM Friday time slot? We'd like to know. Also, has anyone already decided on getting the Master Chief Collection, and if so, would you want the rotation of games to be changed when it comes out? We're also waiting on more Destiny info to see if it would be feasible and/or a good idea to have too. Your opinions on all of that are welcome here and in my e-mail inbox.

Rain of night and Halo 3? Sounds to me like ODST.

Customs Night (I love a rainy night edition [Halo 3])

This is a reminder that Customs Night is tonight, but I have some things to say too. If you have the multiplayer disk from ODST, please use that tonight. If you don't have that but you have the Halo 3 DLC, but it's not on your 360 at the moment, please download it. If you don't own any Halo 3 DLC, the Heroic map pack and Cold Storage are free. The most important things to have for Customs Night this week (besides Halo 3, an Xbox 360, a desire to play, and a good attitude) are the Heroic map pack and the Mythic I map pack, because they have Foundry and Sandbox, the maps that were made for Forge. Here's where you can download the Heroic maps. Given the qualities and price, players will be expected to at least have the Heroic maps.
Happy Friday the 13theveryone.
