I've always wanted Bungie to succeed and I've been hesitant to express negativity about the direction they've been going these past few years, but with the loss of this much institutional knowledge, it's just not going to be the same place anymore. It can't be.

And with Jones gone, the vision for the company's future will change to whatever SIE decides it ought to be. (Unlike most of the internet, apparently, I refuse to believe that Jones has been drawing a paycheck for doing nothing at all this whole time. He had a real job. Primarily, that job was coming up with innovative ideas for future games and then working with incubation teams to develop proof-of-concepts.)

Maybe Bungie finds a way forward with Marathon and continues to make great games, but even if that happens, it's not really *Bungie* anymore, and I think I'm okay with saying that now.

It's the end of Bungie as we know it... and I feel fine.
