Twenty Years....Seven Days. (Off-Topic)
"I hate television...gives me headaches."
Sorry, I try not to do this, but I just have to geek out for a minute.
It's been 20 years since Gore Verbinski came out with my most cherished horror movie—The Ring, an American remake of a Japanese horror story. (Now I'm feeling the numbers, Claude!)
In a time where I had absolutely no interest in the horror genre, The Ring eased my entry into the scary with exactly the kind of storytelling that I found so riveting. It taught me that you don't need jump scares and gory slashers and braindead protagonists to make a damn good horror movie.
And it turns out to celebrate, the movie is being re-released on Blu-Ray....in a case resembling a VHS tape.
It even has a "Be Kind, Rewind" sticker on it for nostalgia—how badass is that!?
