Isn’t that what HDMI 2.1 is for? Lots of new TVs have 2.1 ports.
A lot of those are fake 2.1. For whatever reason, the geniuses behind HDMI licensing not only let you label a TV as HDMI 2.1 without supporting all 2.1 features, they even specifically prohibit new displays from saying they're 2.0 - they officially consider 2.0 as no longer existing and 2.1 as meaning "at least supports 2.0 spec". All the features that are 2.1 are optional to implement. They're supposed to technically have a separate breakout box of what 2.1 features the display supports.I wish I was making this up.
Yeah. You gotta check each feature on each TV individually! It's a mess.
IMO the important ones for gaming are:
UHD@120hz
Dynamic HDR
Variable Refresh Rate
Quick Frame Transport
