Go to the party barge on Nessus... (Destiny)
New quest. Tess also has some new ornaments...

A nods as good as a wink to a blind bat ;)
(singing) This is the quest that never ends...
...yes it goes on and on my friends.
These first steps are quite the rooster tease. How many offerings do you actually have to make before it keeps adding them on, after you've done it?

18 to get to the mission for the gun, 45 to get to the catalyst for the gun, 50 for something else (an emblem?)

Sheesh! I saw in the menu that completing challenges reduces the cost of tributes, how effective are they? I only completed 1 challenge and bought the rest with glimmer and resources...it broke me.
Each Bounty = 1% Discount... (WARNING: Math inside.)

1 Day = 4% (4 Bounties Max Per Day)
4% X 20 Days = 80%
YAY! I can haz math.
The Cheese has been found.
I'm totally stealing this, but the title of the original post meant that a lot of people overlooked it. Original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/cbhf0d/new_quest_guide/
If you have already opened the doors to the Tribute Hall, you're out of luck. If you haven't yet, this is how you can get infinite, free triumphs for Bad Juju, it's catalyst, and even the exotic emote.
- On one character, start the Invitation from the Emperor quest by going to the barge on Nessus and opening the chest next to Werner.
- On the same character, go to the Tribute Hall, and approach the emperor statue. Pick one of his bounties and complete it.
- On the same character, return to the Tribute Hall, and approach the emperor statue again to further the quest.
- At this point, the emperor will give you a tribute to deposit at the door. It is signified by the diamond indicator. DO NOT PLACE THE TRIBUTE.
- Switch characters.
- On your second character, load into the Tribute Hall.
- On your second character, place the tribute by the door.
- On your second character, go to orbit.
- On your second character, repeat steps 6-8 as desired.
(Can't post OP link because I'm getting a "too long" error.)
Thanks!
It works.
Took like 30-40 minutes to get all 50, with lots of dicking around on reddit to be distracting, so it could probably be faster. Don't tell Raga, he already doesn't like me that much. (:
I can't imagine doing this without an SSD.
Thanks!

It's annoying that it'll take me a couple of extra weeks to get the catalyst, compared to you... but I'm having fun, so I guess it's fine in the end. :)

I'd have been pretty okay doing it the right way. It would have taken me well into next season, probably. But I'm not one to pass up an opportunity to be lazy when I can. (:
Discounts
I haven’t had time to check myself, but is the cap of 4 character or account based? I am assuming it is account based.
You are correct.
(Which means that if you only like a couple of them, just do them on a couple of characters.)
/me glares. *NM*
/me dutifully plays his part.
Thanks!

Still works!

At the risk of making Raga not like me either, I did the cheese method as well, and it only took about an hour. Of course, I was distracted by the Netflix Godzilla anime (so good!), so it also could have been much faster. :P
I can't imagine doing this without an SSD.

I felt certain this was going to be the issue where you're in orbit over the planet and suddenly your ship shrinks down to microscopic size.
Thanks!

think they are the same thing. basically instead of your viewpoint and the ship moving together, your viewpoint moves around as normal but the ship remains in place and you watch as you either dive into the atmosphere or you go zooming off to another world
Thanks!

Not the same. My viewpoint doesn't move from high orbit. The planet remains in position as a backdrop. It's exactly the same visual effect as when the ship flies away in other animations--the ship gets smaller at an ever-increasing speed, except the ship doesn't turn to show its exhaust as it flies away. It just shrinks. I'll see if I can capture it next time it happens. It didn't do this until after I got an SSD.
Thanks!
I've seen that one, Kermit, but not in a really long time. The other shown bug happens a lot more often for me.
