a melee impulse? (Destiny)

When you melee you lunge. There is a physics impulse associated with melee that supersedes most other physics. Such as falling from height or the stomp attacks, canceling out their bumping you away.
The most noticeable one is a shoulder charge/melee in super form. If you use it right after being stomped you can basically cancel it out and head towards the boss.
