I really dig that New Monarchy Auto Rifle. I'm not quite ready to trade out my Origin Story for it, but I'm getting pretty damn close. It feels good and punches hard. Sounds good, too.

Same. It has a higher range stat than Origin Story, but in practice I find that I can't actually use it as far away on full-auto because it recoils too much.

I carry that one all the time. I don't use it a lot but it has its place. I may give it the masterworks treatment to encourage more use of it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I got the impression they didn't want to diversify their portfolio. They wanted to abandon the Last City altogether.

Tomato/potato, really. My understanding is that Dead Orbit considers our reliance on THE Last City as being a mistake. That we are too concentrated and that will be the death of us all. So they want to "send our people to the stars" in an effort to have more places for Humanity to survive.
And it isn't like they abandoned The Last City during the Red War. So while it may be eventually "abandoning" I think it is in the interest of no longer needing The Last City for our survival.
But they like black and white and nihilism so everyone assumes it must be edgier.
