or did they decide it was better to write mercury off as a loss? b/c if the cabal are successful (since they apparently cannot foresee our guardian) the whole solar system and the traveler would be destroyed, making their conquests easier.

Would've been cool (and made sense) to have 3-way battles with the vex on the Almighty.
