He can play the vanilla campaign and do basic patrols only.

No mp, no raids.

He'll be capped super low, and will be artificially restricted from essentially everything.

He'll be reminded of that all the time too as he tries to do anything.

Honestly, I say skip it. That disc is pretty much worthless now.
