Oh, and can I say... (Destiny)
...the Iron Banner weapons this time around are pretty fantastic.
I got a Lingering Song (HC) last night with Luck in the Chamber... and it's a pretty serious beast. Best HC in my arsenal, at the moment.
The IB Shotgun, with decent perks (and it's dropped so often that I have a pretty huge range of choices) is finally increasing my Crucible shotgun kills. (My titan has 33,000 crucible kills. Shotguns make up 480 of those. Close to 10% of those came last night.)
People have been raving about the Clever Dragon (Pulse Rifle) - I had one drop at the end of the night, with Perfect Balance and Headseeker. I'm really looking forward to giving it a workout.
The Sniper is a beast, if you don't live and die by Impact.
It's unlikely to displace Quillim's (because I'm in love with Quillim's, we're gonna get married), but Unending Deluge III is a pretty darned impressive Machine Gun.
I'm not a Fusion Rifle guy, but The Branded Lord seems... dangerous. I mean, I got a couple of kills with it, which increased the total Crucible Kills with FRs on my Hunter by 50%. (Heh. I had 4 going into this IB. Now I have 6. Out of 12.5k Crucible kills. :) )
The Auto Rifle is a bullet hose, in the best sense of the word. (Kicks like a mule, but with a few Stability perks, it's not hard to control.)
This seems like a first. There isn't a bad one in the bunch. That's pretty nice.

The Unbent Tree is very forgiving at range upgraded with advanced stability and optics. It's totally turned me around on the whole class. Feels almost like a machine gun at times.

Oh, and can I say...
Fantastic gear and falling like rain.
Lady Efrideet, bringing the booty.
In... in a literal sense, you understand.

Agreed
Pulse is arguably the best option for PvP going forward. Scout rifle and AR are both pvp-ready with best in class potential. I really want a version of the scout with full auto.
This is weird, but I LOVE the sights on the shotgun. You can actually tell if you're gonna headpop a guy, and the pellet cluster is nice and tight. It's not the best for range or impact, but it's good enough at both to be viable for 6s. I wouldn't bring it into trials, however.
HC will, I feel, be outshined by the vendor "The Palindrome" in PvP regardless of roll. That gun is just soooo crisp.
Just got my HMG last night, so I've yet to try it out. Very hard to be better than Qullim's simply because of cocoon being so good, and hard to be better than Thunderlord because Thunderlord, but it might be. Against All Odds remains my all-time favorite. 10 kills without reloading? Yes, please.
The sparrow is good, too, and I like the ghost's look.
The shaders, though. Knight Errant is possibly the ugliest Y3 shader so far. It's like poop, prune juice, and a slightly lighter shade of poop decided to have a party.

I like it. It's not a hard hitter, but mine has braced frame and hidden hand, so I can use it pretty well for quick follow-up shots. Plus it sounds great.
I go the Silvered Dread machine gun. I'm using it just for the sound. They'd nailed the sound on these guns.
My only downside on what I've got is the shotgun. Not that it isn't good, but I haven't gotten a drop that I would favor over what I currently use.

Interesting fact: both senses are literal.
Booty in slang has an entirely different etymology (related to body) than booty in terms of plundered goods or valuable prizes. Neither is metaphorical or by analogy.
I'm not so sure about the shotgun
I mean, it actually shoots where I point it, which is an upgrade from my Conspiracy Theory-D (seriously, I don't think "ghost bullets" really apply to shotguns, but that thing does not work properly), but even with all the range perks it can't compete with a Matador/Party Crasher/Quantiplasm.
I'm holding out hope for a Full Auto roll PvE, maybe with Cascade or Graverobber, as a replacement for my Dry Rot. Pair it with SGa and a bullet hose for a fun PvE 'More Dakka' build.
Side Arm has potential if you like Side Arms

Unleveled shotgun was fun and useful in the Raid. I can only imagine what it'll do with good perks.
But yeah, even the sidearm has a great sound ("Dude, you can totally play the Terminator theme with the sidearm!").

I've gotten four shotguns so far, don't like any of them

I got a Lingering Song with Small Bore, Lightweight/High Calibre Rounds, and Third Eye/Firefly. I'm excited to give it a try. LitC would be very nice, especially w/ Small Bore's reduce mag size!

I haven't seen one yet. Is it better than Trespasser?

Lol @ "Better than Tresspasser"...
Sammy has one with Extended mag. It's a solid weapon, for sure, but it's still a sidearm. That said, all IB weapons seem to have an innately high stability, and the sidearm's no different (and in fact, benefits from this more than the other IB weapons besides the Auto Rifle).
But yeh, nothing is similar to the Tresspasser ATM. I wouldn't even say that it fits the role of a sidearm (It's more like a controlled Fusion Rifle that behaves like a short-range Pulse Rifle, if anything).

I'm with you. Just got mine last week and it's soooooooo good.

Trespasser pretty much carried me to the Lighthouse.

You know what will replace it? Nemesis Star.

Looks like a bitchin' gun
I'll take one.

That's an exotic heavy though?!? who would be stupid enough to use that (says week 2 me)

Oh, and can I say...
I got one, but for whatever reason I haven't tried it out. Is it better than Thunderlord? That's been my go to exotic machine gun.

I much prefer it to the thunderlord. The perks allow you to strech a magazine for along time.

Yup. It's almost like a heavy pulse rifle if you keep pulling the trigger.

(I thought I'd posted your latest missive several hours ago, but apparently I stopped one step before "add to database". Sorry.)

Smallbore with LitC is great, I will confirm. Mine also has High Caliber. It is a great team shooter.

Trespasser pretty much carried me to the Lighthouse.
that's awesome!
For all the PvP I do, I haven't once been to the lighthouse. 8-1 all day (actually 7-1 all day, with the occasional 8-1 thrown in for good measure).

lol - that's better than my 4-1. ;)

4-1 tonight
Matched with Luckyy and Buttwipe at 4 wins. COME ON BUNGIE, GIVE ME A CHANCE.

And foithermore...
This is the first IB I've played a load more after getting all three characters to Rank 5. Put a couple more hours in today and I'm rolling in 385 primaries, secondaries, class items and a rather spiffing 385 ghost. Not to mention the accompanying faction and crucible package rewards.
Hoot!

I had one of those at the postmaster yesterday ... and then I didn't.

Still 8 points away from 385 - maybe next IB! (I'm actually surprised by how fast folks have been moving up around me; I feel like I play more hours than most people, but I advance more slowly.)

And that, sir, is a metaphor for life.

IB blasted me up from 377 on a single character, to 386 on all three. So much loot...

I got a BOATLOAD of loot - but it was overwhelmingly Unbent Trees and Proud Spires. (I got almost a dozen of each.)
Very, very little armor (my hunter got a helmet, and I received one chest and two pairs of boots to use as infusion). I was 373 on my highest-light character when the week started, and I'm 378 on my highest now. (And a significant chunk of that came from a few Archon's Forge sessions.)
Weird. In some ways, I'm really lucky (Skeleton keys). In others... not so much.
Still, I get more loot than Zero does. :)

He actually gets all of the loot. He just keeps his inventory full so they go to the postmaster. This way he can put on the tough facade that Destiny hates him.

And foithermore...
Oh it does. I keep at least 4 slots per item open at all times. Probably why my vault is always so full with all the infusion fuel I keep getting.
