For the inevitable discussions about Mass Effect, Starwars, and anything else they may present.
Titanfall 2 looks great.

Titanfall 2 MP trailer is the best gameplay trailer ever!!!
by CruelLEGACEY , Toronto, Sunday, June 12, 2016, 18:30 (3092 days ago) @ INSANEdrive
I'm not being sarcastic. I really think it is the best gameplay trailer ever made.
It's fast paced, exciting, thrilling... and it is completely true to the game being shown. Pay attention to the editing. Notice the complete lack of hyperactive cutting or in-your-face transitions. Lots of long, un-edited shots that show amazing combat sequences as they actually occur in the game. It is exciting because the gameplay really is that exciting, not because the editors are presenting it as something it isn't. Can't wait :D

Don't know if I'd say EVER, but it was really awesome! That grappling hook alone is going to be a ton of fun!
You must not watch a lot of gameplay trailers, then...

Honestly, they did a great job with the single-player trailer, but the MP trailer felt like they were taking more than a few notes from Treyarch's CoD trailers, which do a great job of showing off tons of things while still being true to the gameplay experience.
In fact, check their E3 trailer from last year, which showed off the different characters, their Supers, and the maps/gameplay in an expertly-made trailer (music choice aside):
Titanfall 2's multiplayer isn't showing much in terms of variety other than "grappling hook! Different-looking Titans! Uh... Grappling hook!"
At least the single-player is looking interesting.
You're drunk again ;p

Yep, also a great gameplay trailer. I prefer the Titanfall 2 trailer because it shows more variety and dynamic gameplay elements, but that's because the game itself features more variety and dynamic elements. COD is a bit more inherently repetitive, so I can't fault the trailer for that. Either way, another great example of a trailer that is true to the experience.

Ok, you clearly weren't paying attention :) The zip line is probably the biggest game-changer shown, but it is far from the only thing. The number of new weapons/abilities they show off in this trailer makes me giddy. Titan swords, Titan flamethrowers, gravity-bomb grenades, new Titan super abilities, a pilot teleport/blink ability...
I think the first Titanfall has the best combat sandbox since Halo CE, and it looks like Respawn is adding a great new set of toys to play with. Almost every clip in the trailer showed something that made my imagination take off, thinking of all the cool ways I'm going to use these new tricks in combat.
At least the single-player is looking interesting.
Single player is where I'm not sold yet... It certainly has potential, and I hope it's great. But Titanfall was built and designed as a competitive multiplayer shooter, and they absolutely nailed that side of it. It's perfect for what it is. The Devs said from the start that they weren't really interested in doing a traditional FPS campaign anymore, and that adding something like that to Titanfall would be a kind of step backwards for them. To turn around and add a traditional offline campaign feels like a concession... and that might be for the best. There are certainly plenty of people who want a Titanfall campaign. I'm just not sold on that side of the game yet.

You have some weird tastes, but maybe I should lower my standards for the Titanfall series after the barebones snoozefest that was the first Titanfall. I guess if any progress at all "makes your imagination take off", then I guess there are indeed enough "new" additions to the bland sandbox to do more with (A Titan sword! That's like... a different melee system than the pretty much non-existent one that was there was before! Less boom boom, more scripted animations!).
At least the single-player is looking interesting.

From what I've seen, it's looking like a Redbox to get through the campaign and a short dabble in the multiplayer to see if it's better than the noob-friendly "lite FPS" that the first one was designed to be, but from that trailer, it's not looking like it'll have much staying power, although the fact that it's releasing on all platforms might give it more community success than the abysmal population that the first one had only months down the road.
I dunno, maybe it's a skill thing. The fact that people take joy in racking up kills against AI enemies that stare at a wall eating graham crackers while they charge up a Titan that'll help them rack up more kills against AI and the occasional player... It's not my thing. But hey, to each his own. ;)

If you're only fighting the AI, you are certainly not playing the game the same way I do :)
Here's a clip from my average game of Titanfall:
Little bit of a slow start, but by the time you hit the 25-30 second mark it's me against almost the entire enemy team for the rest of the video :)

That clip kind of proved my point. The first mech fight was 30+ seconds of "strafe, shoot, miss melee, rinse and repeat", then the rest of it was the no-less repetitive "circle building, take potshot, miss infantry, rinse and repeat". So tell me, do Titan encounters have plenty of variety, or do they all follow this same pattern? In my experience, the only variation comes from whether someone primed their Titan to blow after it's destroyed or not.
When I played, the VIP gametype was fun and creative, but it was a limited time game mode. Everything else is just as boring and repetitive as your "average game".

I totally get if it's not your thing, I just don't get your reasoning. Your description of "strafe, shoot, miss melee, rinse and repeat" could be applied to just about any shooter... the difference in Titanfall is that the length of the Titan encounters means the various abilities and counters really have time to come into play and be used strategically. Pay attention to how and when I used the smoke: either to soften up an enemy titan that had just landed, or to block off a pursuit path to give myself some breathing room. Same with the missiles - I use them as a sort of crowd control device just as often as I use them to do actual damage. Using the abilities right is what allowed me to engage 2 or 3 enemy Titans at a time, while also dealing with a couple Pilots, without getting instantly swarmed and overrun. That kind of stuff doesn't happen in most shooters, thanks to the super quick kill times.
Titanfall 2 MP looking "meh" aside...

All DLC content will be free, thanks to the glorious (and vastly suprerior) Microtransaction model.
(Though to be fair, the dead population of Titanfall contributed to having them make the first game's DLC free, to the chagrin of Season Pass holders).
If only Battlefield 1 adopted this model...

I happen to love Titanfall, but that's not why I think this is the best gameplay trailer I've seen. I love it because of how honest and accurate to the actual game it is. Watching the trailer feels like playing Titanfall, and they achieve that simply by showing a lot of natural gameplay footage and letting it speak for itself. If the game doesn't appeal to you, neither will the trailer. And I LOVE that. It's not lying or trying to appeal to the audience based on elements that aren't actually in the game.
Titanfall 2 MP trailer is the best gameplay trailer ever!!!

Untrue. If anything the trailer lies. It never shows you missing the windows, falling off the buildings, jumping off the wrong wall, getting hopelessly lost, and getting triple teamed as soon as you call your titan in. That pretty much sums up my experience, as well as others, with Titanfall 1. It had a very high skill bar to climb to pull off the stuff you see in this trailer.
Also, anyone get a robot revolution vibe coming from the campaign?

Yes, there is certainly a learning curve. But one of my favorite things about the game is the way they give you abilities that look and feel super cool right off the bat, and then reward skill by allowing you to pull of crazier and crazier sequences and maneuvers. I hit a stride with the game where almost every match I played would lead to at least 1 moment that felt straight out of the most climactic action movie sequence ever made. It's the perfect example of a game that rewards the player not by giving them loot or unlocks or trinkets, but by providing a sandbox that allows you to do BADASS looking stuff on a regular basis :)

Hey, can we start Team BAMF?
Here's my application: grabbing the flag, nearly dying before I leap of a ledge, spin around midair and toss a grenade up behind me off the wall, and Smart Pistol it to kill my pursuer as he leaps after me. Wall run to the capture point like a boss.
We might be the two most excited TF2 players on Earth. :)

Other than that little detail, there is little else to say right now. I like the idea they are selling through. Reminds me of what I was thinking Destiny Vanilla was going to be.

I guess it's cool and all, if you were one of literally tens of people who wanted more narrative in their sporce. But a story campaign was the last thing I expected for FIFA, right next to "you can transform into a crow and peck the goalies eyes for bonus points".
