King's Fall Heroic: Complete *Video* (reply)

It varied. Sometimes it sounded like you were talking "through a sock" as Mig put it, other times it was loud and AM radio clear. I don't know if this info helps you.

My vid if curious (reply)

I had to float several times, so you can see some of the other aspects of the fight. It's really intricate, fast, and with no room for error. 11 minutes of pure concentration! It was really fun guys. Now we have to do it again next week with dogcow!

Yes please!

King's Fall Heroic: Complete *Video* (reply)

Congrats! Hope I get to do this before Destiny 2. :)

Whenever you feel like you might be ready to tackle it, I'll commit to doing it with you. I haven't done the Heroic raid, and don't see myself doing it anytime really soon. I got my headset back from Astro and haven't had any issues with an echo, so it seems like that's fixed on my end. (:

Great! And I'm glad your headset is fixed.

I think my set up is working, too, although I probably need to move my mic placement closer. I got complaints the other night about how low the volume is.

The thing that makes Heroic a real pain in the butt is that you basically need to plan on running everything up to the final boss several times before you can actually take on Oryx. Most of the raid is totally doable at 305-310, but the final battle is nearly impossible if you're below 311. Maybe as time goes on we will have more ways to get our light up that high (Trials and Iron Banner now have a chance of yielding 320 gear).

Had a great time Friday playing all the raids with Petetheduck & co. It was a nice way to get back to Destiny after several weeks or not playing.

It's interesting that old Year 1 content seemed to be the thing that pulled me back in last night, too, helping General Vagueness through Crota and some Prison of Elders. Was a good time with lots of laughs, and it served as a great reminder of the things at which Destiny exceeds.

Beating King's Fall that first time was one of my Destiny highlights, but I think VoG and Crota's End are both more fun to jump in and casually replay with friends. They're not as long or exhausting, and they leave more room for improvising or going on "auto pilot" so I can just relax and chat without putting 100% of my focus on the game.

So thats why you kept dying.... (reply)

Just kidding. All the sleepyness was making me very irritable last night.

Lol let's count the ways:

Oryx shot me.
I jumped into the ship.
I ran around the wrong platform killing Speedracer than myself.
An eye.
A centurion seeker while on top of the plate.

But see, now I'll never make those mistake again, as that last run showed :-)

King's Fall Heroic: Complete *Video*

Our group finally defeated Oryx on heroic last night. A couple people in our fireteam had done it before, but it was the first time for most of us. It's an interesting fight; loads of intricacies to work out. It took us ages to successfully make it through the first round of ogres and orbs, but once we finally got the hang of it we made progress very quickly.

We ended up using the exact same technique that we typically use for normal mode. Each guardian on pillar duty had the added responsibility of taking out the light-eater knight that spawned across from them. Once we finally got it down, everything ran quite smoothly.

Big thanks to Ottermack, Peaksutah, Cody, TheeChaos, Speedracer, and DogCow (who missed our battle with Oryx, but helped get us there). It was lots of fun!
