I *always* play Trials with a wired connection (reply)

I love that the Xbox One wireless controllers actually become wired controllers when you plug them in.

Anyone know if that is true for the PS4 dual shock?

Don't think so. PS4 controller always sends it's data over wireless.

I don't think I am sensitive enough to it to notice the latency advantage, but then I don't play fighting games anymore. Glad it's there for the people who want it.

I assume it's like how I can taste things in food most people can't.

Well, yeah . . . (reply)

Well... it if means my audio doesn't try and drop out and my controller never disconnects at random. That seems important...

I just have never experienced any issues like that. Or latency issues, as Vortech point out. I have never had any issues there, either.

I mean, I think it's great functionality and it's great for folks that prefer wired. I've just never personally had issues or felt like wired would be beneficial.

What's that mean? (reply)

I love that the Xbox One wireless controllers actually become wired controllers when you plug them in.

Anyone know if that is true for the PS4 dual shock?

I have Eneloops, so I've never even plugged my controller into my Xbox One.

I understand the principle of what you're saying; they actually send signals through the wire when plugged in, whereas the 360 still functioned wirelessly when plugged in.

Is there a reason that matters?

I *always* play Trials with a wired connection (reply)

Yeah that was a complaint from the 360 days. That was something they specifically addressed with XB1 and I haven't heard of people noticing a difference in latency with XB1 controllers wired or wireless. (If your experience is different let me know)

No, it's true. There's much less of a difference on XB1. I could probably switch without much issue, but right now I'm not having to deal with batteries at all (either swapping or charging) and that's kind of nice.

I *always* play Trials with a wired connection (reply)

I used to run wireless, until my wireless 360 controllers all broke and I ran wired for a while instead of buying replacements. Then, later, I got a wireless one again and tried to switch back. Unfortunately, that's when I learned that there is a very real difference in Forza 4 between the two, and my brain and hands had become adjusted to the lower-latency wired controller. As a result, driving wireless now felt like the track was coated with butter. I've stuck with wired ever since.

Losing features before the battery dies is superior? (reply)

Boy, with that backwards mentality, no wonder folks bought XBones. :P
If be annoyed if the touchpad suddenly stopped responding because of low battery.

It is absolutely superior. If you forget after the first warning (which I often ignore), it's a great reminder that is instantly felt. Having backups are always great design. Also Mac mentioned it allows you to use the controller even longer by reducing the load on the batteries. :)

I bet you enjoy 343's Halo games too, freaks.

I have in the past :) haven't tried the new halo yet.
