I figured that was probably the case. I'm just barely under Rank 2 after last night, but Disciple was Rank 4 while we played, if I remember correctly.

I mentioned only having the "Reach Rank 4" task left to complete all of the dailies and weeklies yesterday, so that might have been where the confusion came from. And the engram didn't decrypt into an IB glove, but it was at least in the 290s so my Warlock will have something that can be infused now :)

Edit: Actually, I just realized that I decrypted two glove engrams on my Warlock last night and one turned into 290 Impossible Machines (I already had 310 Impossible Machines, so I was actually way more excited to have a decent set of legendary gloves). No way to know if it was the IB one or one I had sitting my vault, but I doubt it makes a difference.

I'm not a fan of the current setup because the currency used to buy IB gear (legendary marks) is something that cannot be earned while playing Iron Banner. Aside from the 75 marks you can get from the weekly IB bounties, you need to go outside the IB playlist. This is a huge pain for anyone who's time is limited. I only have a few days to try and get my IB rank up, but even if I'm able to do it I won't be able to buy anything because I won't have time to run dailies as well.

Really, I think this whole Lehendary Mark system needs a substantial overhaul. It's clearly painting some players into corners where they feel like they need to play activities they wouldn't otherwise play just to earn currencies. It's no better than the split vanguard/crucible currencies we had before... not yet, at least. If they awarded some small amount of marks for strikes and crucible matches, I think that would be a big help.

I think you could also go to the other side and say, that people have to play iron banner (activity they wouldnt otherwise play) to get gear. Before you could just get your marks by doing strikes/crucible/whatever you wanted and get the max marks. The problem was that you were restricted on where you could spend them. They did not set a cap, which is nice, but you are limited on how you can get them. I think they should keep the dailies the same, but just give you a set time a week you can earn marks by activities overall. For instance, instead of 3 strikes or 3 weekly crucible playlist wins, just give accounts 6 chances, applicable to either activity. During IB, You should be able to earn a capped amount (or count as your weekly playlist wins, since there isn't another weekly playlist) by winning in IB. I am not sure the exact numbers that would work, but it will be annoying to have to play something else, to earn gear for IB. Kind of defeats the purpose. At least before you could just farm the glimmer, but you were still doing another activity that NO ONE wanted to do.

The bounties give you legendary marks. 25 each for the gold ones.

We'll see after the week is done if the you get the gear from drops thing works out. Even though I hate glimmer farming, I would do it since it was a guaranteed way of earning what I needed to get what I wanted.

I just played for two hours with squid and Disciple. Saw one Legendary drop the entire time we played (we played something like ten or eleven matches). I forgot to ask if it even decrypted into IB gear.

Granted, that's not a terribly long play time, but that's a god awful Legendary drop rate compared to running strikes.

I played 2 strikes and one Iron Banner game (45 minutes, maybe) and I currently have 75 marks. And that's after 3 new infusions.

They build up pretty quick. :)

(It helps that the two strikes completed a 25-mark bounty, but still... :) )

I found the same thing, until I completed all the quests on my hunter. Now they trickle in. I don't do the daily mission/playlist unless I'm in the mood, which kills most of my "earning potential". But as you said, I'm finding that legendary gear drops often enough that I'll still get 10-15 marks per day that way.

Well... Only if you must by things right now. You're are and always have been free to play the way you want. ;)

Remember, it's not only just for buying stuff.... but also used for infusing your gear to be able to participate in the end game activities. I need those marks so I can play the want I want to play lol

Seriously though, Glimmer Farming always sucked and I'd rather do just about anything else. Either the pervious Iron Banner prices were too high or the Glimmer cap was too low. Or both. Hopefully, the "you get the gear from drops while playing" system works because if it does I think it will be far superior to saving up Marks or Glimmer.
