I found Hawkmoon and Monte Carlo year 2 and can not get the year 1 from the vault. So I have to do old stuff to get the year 1 version. That doesn't seem right.

That's why Xur sells a "Legacy" engram every week. Those engrams are very heavily weighted to give you something you don't already have unlocked in your collection.

I bought two last week just to get my year one Hawkmoon and Monte Carlo so that the box in my collection kiosk wouldn't be greyed out anymore.

If you'd just come back to the PS4, they'd already have been unlocked there. Just sayin'
