If you hit him with a throwing knife with incendiary blade, he catches fire. I didn't have Thorn equipped, so I don't know if he turns green. It would be worth a try.

A Warlock melee will trigger effects as well. Something for him to remember me by. ;)

It's such a small thing that is just so awesome. I'm really glad the coders did that.
