What happens is you summon a wizard, name of Balwur. And some buddies. You can't hurt either immediately. Instead, you need to take a dip in a safe zone (think like cleansing in VoG). This gives you a buff which actually lasts a good while, allowing you to deal damage. Arena center becomes a non-poisoned area, and you can pop out and shoot her in the face.

Adds keep coming every so often, so being able to take care of the exploding thralls is nice. Its a much easier encounter than the Fanatic was for me. Though that may have been largely due to randoms having never apparently run Crota himself. You'd think they'd learn trying to slap the twenty foot eldritch abomination ended in death after the first twelve times.
