These are very good if you decide to farm Draksis or something.

Edit: Threw around 17 at Draksis, got 4 exotic engrams total. Hawkmoon being the highlight.

Man. I went through 20 of them, got three primary exotics: two Monte Carlos and a new The Last Word. :(

I would have been happy with one Warlock helm at 290. Instead I got Celestial Nighthawk, Graviton Forfeit, and Helm of Saint-14 before I ran out of coins. Now I wish I had just bought the 280 gloves… Maybe I can farm 12 more Strange Coins before he leaves on Sunday.

If that's the way it works, that is perhaps a decent compromise towards making purchased exotics slightly less favorable.

For example if you're aiming for a specific exotic helmet, it'll probably be cheaper to use engrams.

All totally new exotics I'd never gotten before!

Also, all of my helmets decrypted to 290 light, whereas the exotic gloves I bought were only 280.

I bought two Legacy Engrams for kicks(and those Impossibles, oooh....) and I'm already back to broke. And there's no Heroic Strikes to get those coins back...I'm in trouble.

They drop from bounties regularly and more often from blue engrams and even Crucible. I have gotten over 80 in the last three days.

The whole "you won't get too many duplicates" thing doesn't seem to apply to engrams, which was odd (I got four LBN, two Taikonauts, two Empyrean Bellicose, two Stags, and two Obsodian Minds). Nothing for the Hunter. :/

I've heard from various sources that that only stated for Legacy exotic engrams.

Basically you just run the mission Scourge of Winter until you get to Draksis then shoot him until he has almost no health and run up and rocket yourself and him. He might drop an engram, and you will respawn outside of the room. Make sure you use one of the three of coins first, obviously.

'Threw 17 at him' was just a dumb way for me to say I killed him 17 times, using a three of coins before each kill.

I know what I'll be doing on my lunch break ;)

3. It is random, but posters on Reddit are saying they average from 3-5 every 20 kills.

I think this will (and likely should) get adjusted soon. Just seems too easy to get exotics right now.
