Yeah I think you have to be under 6 months from it expiring (like right now I entered a code from this site a few days ago and my expiration date is now February 2017).

You can no longer stack memberships. So if you buy extras then you will have to save the codes for multiple years

What do you mean by "stack memberships"? I've bought multiple cards in the past, but only for the purpose of pre-paying my XBL at a better rate. Is that different from "stacking"?

A few years ago, you could buy 3 or 4 codes, and input them all at once - your expiration date would go out 3 or 4 years.

At some point, they stopped allowing that. Now if you use prepaid codes, you have to input them when your old one is almost gone, one at a time.
