So, for funz I ascended my The Devik You Know, and have been running it in IB. I think I like it better than thorn.

I always had fun running around killing people with Plasma Rifles and Carbines and other not-BR/DMR guns in Halo... But I feel obligated to do good, and thus forced to use TLW or Red Death in IB and Trials. I feel like TLW and Thorn particularly could use a slight nerf to let other guns slightly more useful, thus add some more variety.

I've been running my Hunter this week with ZERO exotics and still averaging a 1.4 k/d. But I do use party crasher with shot package and a tripod launcher with horseshoes. Most of my kills though are Primary pulse rifles.... and golden gun. :)

Doing well with guns that most people don't even consider using is incredibly satisfying. I'm not really big into the end-game content (I've run VoG three times on normal mode and that's it), and really only got into IB after HoW came out, so I don't really have the perfectly rolled guns and armor that other people do. I do have Thorn and Last Word, but I've never really been able to get the hang of them and don't really want to use them anyway.

Instead, my Warlock's been running with Vision of Confluence (or Venation III if there's a hand cannon bounty), Secret Handshake (though I just started giving fusion rifles another try for the heck of it), Thunderlord (or Truth for rocket bounties) and Voidfang (don't even have The Ram lol). Sure I don't always do well, but even when I'm toward the middle of a losing team I'm having fun. It makes me feel like other people are missing out by using only "the best guns."

I still say it needs a buff, to match in-game description (reply)

It's the one and only shotgun that should kill from ranges a perfect fellwinter's can kill from. The fact that it takes your primary more than makes up for that, however now that sidearms are a thing they may compliment Universal remote really well.

Yeah, I can't really imagine a gun that actually acts like a Scout Rifle when aiming and a shotgun from the hip, I think it would very overpowered in Crucible to have a gun like that and also be able to carry a sniper rifle.

It's a blast. Pretty much the only weapons i've seen this IB are Thorn, Red Death, and occasionally Last Word and Messenger (adept). Secondaries seem to be only Party Crasher or Fellwinters lie. It was boring, watching everyone use the same thing but my team was no exception, even if they only switched because they were sick of dying to the poison effect.

So I swapped out my Last Word for the Remote and commenced operation Sneaky BTRD. With the otherwise limited Kepri's sting giving me a kneel cloak with hungering blade, I would cloak, come in from odd angles and just appear in the midst of the other team.

Guys sniping B on Shores of Time? Hello shotgun to the face. I know you were in the middle of a wide open area, but OP Sneaky can't be denied.
Got the good spawn and only sent two to C on Rusted Lands? Should have looked down the stairs guys!

I may not get heavy ammo or come anywhere near a 10 kill streak, but man was it fun. More fun then sitting back and plinking away with thorn. Of course we had some competition get really ticked about those blasts to the face and I had two titans save their supers just for me in one match.

I wouldn't do this without a team backing me up, but this was pretty typical of the night: Boom!

I've got to get some streaming set up because you can't appreciate the surprise factor until you see it.
