Bungie has been having more frequent patches of late, and I think that's a really, really good thing. The dev team needs to be nimble when it comes to exploits and bugs, which - up until the last month or so - they really have not been.

Don't ask me why I did this.

The steeper the line, the higher the frequency of updates. So while it was slow in march-april-may, the increase isn't exactly unusual for a post release period. All dates taken from Bungie's update page.

In a couple of years, Destiny may be a game I will no longer regret having purchased. Okay, okay, I don't regret the purchase so much as I regret the fact that I still log on for some reason.
