While a normal person might use the word "laptop" or "computer", the indigenous Cody needs to let people know that he owns not only a Macbook, but a Macbook Pro.

If I wanted to brag I'd have mentioned something other than a 4 year old laptop.

My concern for my destiny gear sits far below another fact.. These apps require me to log in to my Microsoft and Sony accounts - both of which have billing info and store privileges - with a portal they provide.

If that's the case, it either wasn't implemented when I tried Tower Ghost, or the interface was pretty unintuitive. I guess I can try it again.

Careful there, you're allowed to beat up on Cody for many things, but not being a Mac user. A MacBook Pro isn't just a "laptop" or "computer", after all. :)

In my opinion, DIM's interface, where you simply drag items around from character to character is perfect for a touch screen! Bungie should absolutely redesign their app to be more like DIM. I was hoping to just need my phone when I play and have to switch guns around, but it looks like I need my Macbook Pro after all.

I know some of the bungie APIs have docs, but I don't know about the inventory ones. Reverse-engineering is fun though, right?

I left a small iOS dev job of 3 years for Amazon, and kind of like the idea of a pet project.

Note that this spurred me to download loadouts for destiny and tower ghost. Tower ghost was a non-starter, I got a blank page that said "Hi" at the top. Loadouts looks pretty functional, would likely do what you needed. The interface is good, not great, that's my only complaint. Functionality is there.

Yeah, same here. I use the Destiny companion for this type of thing, and it works well enough that I don't want to bother installing an additional app.

That's because I tend to leave certain weapons on certain characters, and rarely swap them unless I have a specific need for a given weapon. Scout rifles and hand cannons tend top stay on my Hunter, ARs tend to stay on my Titan, and so on.

I would probably use a 3rd-party app if any of them were actually capable of equipping a whole loadout at once. But as far as I've seen, you can only transfer a loadout to/from inventory and vault, which due to the reasons above, isn't particularly useful to me.

I'm pretty sure that both Tower Ghost and Loadouts for Destiny enable you to save loadouts and load loadouts at will. I think there is a delay, in that only one item can be moved at a time, but that's a limitation on Bungie's end.

hawkmoon achievement in-app is "The Cody Miller". :D (reply)
