I mainly bring it up because a lot of people don't know that the way many microphones are designed you want it to physically touch your lips if possible. Another possibility to consider is that the mic pickup is typically only on one side - take a peek under the windscreen and make sure it's actually facing your mouth not away from it.

I appreciate that you're just trying to help, but in 8 years of owning a 360 it actually did occur to me to try moving the mic. As for talking louder, the problem is that I trail off in the middle of sentences a bit. You can't talk louder when you're not saying anything. And no, I'm not going to change my whole mode of speech because of an annoyance with one product - I'm not sure I could even do that, to be honest.

If that's the case you need to move the mic closer to your mouth or talk louder. Ideally, if you have the adjustable mic you should put it as close to your lips as possible.

It's what I do whenever I have something important to say. Doesn't necessarily work every time, but it's better.

Not likely to help. I have always had the same problem with my 360. I've tried different mics, different controllers, to no avail.

If he's like me, the problem is not the hardware exactly. What I eventually realized is that the 360 stops transmitting audio from your mic if the volume drops below a certain level. I tend to trail off in the middle of sentences, and then pick back up and finish them. So it cuts me off, and then doesn't start transmitting again quickly enough, and part of what I'm saying gets lost. The 360 just isn't compatible with the way I speak.

The XBone does this too (as do most Bluetooth headsets, by the way), but at least in my case, it's much better about letting me finish and seems to pick up more quickly. People don't have trouble hearing me the way they always did on 360.

As anyone who he played with iconicbanana knows, his mic hates him and always cuts off right before the important bit. This is a petition to have him talk like Yoda so the important stuff is said first. "C is where they are."
This is a serious issue that needs attention.
