I've only found 3 or 4 chests so far, and none of them gave more than one engram.

Someone I was playing with last night said he thought the ones he had that wouldn't decrypt yet had all come from the treasure chests from HoW public events. He might be right, I haven't really done any research to try and confirm or deny.

Personally, I'm just not worrying about it. As I see it, there's 2 schools of thought:

1. Save everything up so that you get new items.

2. Turn everything in now so that you get some of the old items, which you might not be able to get after HoW drops. After all, you'll have plenty of time to get the new stuff.

Which one makes sense just depends on what you want. I think I already have everything I could want out of the old stuff, so I'm just not bothering to think about it. I HAVE been vaulting the ones I can't decrypt yet, just to get the Cryptarch to stop flashing green all the time.

I've seen some people stockpiling, but I'm not sure if it's just the stuff that won't decrypt, or everything in hopes that it drops new gear or some of the new currencies. I have a ton of blues from yesterday so far.

From what I understand the engrams are rolled when the engrams are created.
