Its really not that bad. Only took me about 15 minutes to figure out good timing so my photos weren't too dark or had the flashing of the hud loading. See, Here's me looking fancy near the speaker.

Y'all seem crazy or maybe just much better at timing than I am. Just record a short video clip and pull a frame out of that.

But that doesn't get rid of the HUD :)

But how the hell did I get photobombed in a video game? This guy snuck up on me while I was practicing. The timing is tricky. Too early and there is a dimming effect that makes the pic darker. Too late and you get flashes of the hud loading.

But this one looks cool anyway with the dimming effect.

Didn't realize that's how it worked! They shouldn't make make it so convoluted to use. You can really tell that the original design of the snap system was built around the kinect.

Yep. Really, the entire Xbox One UI is built around the assumption that we would be using Kinect for most navigation. Word floating around is that there will be a major UI overhaul shown at E3.

The double tap takes you into a snap like menu. You can then use x to record a clip, y for screen shot, and the D-Pad for snaping, friends list etc. It's kinda a pain for stuff like recording.

Here's a good tutorial, and it also shows that you can kinect screenshot w voice.

I know you need to hit Y to save the screenshot, but my point is that the image that is being saved is grabbed the moment you double-tap the guide button, meaning you might still be able to get the HUD-less screenshots.

edit: I don't have kinect, but you may be able to voice command a screen shot? i know you can record clips that way. I hear others shouting xbox record that often.

I think the screenshot gets captured the moment you double tap... Pressing Y just saves it. Don't know about Kinect screenshots.

It might be worth a shot... I think you just double tap the guide button, right?
If I remember correctly, the xbox grabs the screenshot as soon as you double tap. With some practice, you might be able to get the timing right.

How did you do the hud-less photos? I can't remember if they added a feature to remove it or not.

It's a little trick you can pull off using the PS4 Screenshot feature (not sure if it will work on Xbox One... it might).

Any time you leave the "pause" menu, it takes the HUD a split second longer to fade in than the rest of the game world. So you press the start button to leave the menu, then immediately hit the screenshot button to grab the image before the HUD fades back in.

You can grab some fantastic images that way :)

I got it in an engram, but I think the Crucible vendor is selling it. It doesn't have the exact stats I want, but it looks too good for me to care.
