I'd also like to add melee weapons. This could be a sword, axe, or big hammer.

And Maybe even some submachine guns.

I'm still waiting for my bow (as in archery).

I have a feeling that this is exactly how the Auto Pistol will function. I'm thinking Halo 2 SMG-ish.

I'm thinking more like Halo (4?) pistol where you could fire it as fast as you could pull the trigger, but it's aim was shit because of it.

Hasn't this gun been confirmed to have full automatic fire? Or am I making that up?

I'm pretty sure I heard Gothalion say today that it is not fully automatic.

It also kind of reminded me of those blasters from Jetforce Gemini, but the hell if I'm posting some grainy video from a dude's camcorder. 1999 did not age well on youtube.

So in the stream someone was using a Scout rifle, then switched and suddenly had that automatic style pistol with the sliding action. I could clearly see it in the HUD as a second weapon, so it had to be a special, but I didn't really see him use it much. Does this mean we are getting a new weapon type in HoW?

According to images in the threads below this one, it's classified as a "Sidearm" and is indeed a Special. It's a Legendary, making it the first non-exotic in the game to be in a slot separate from other weapons in its class (although, being a Sidearm, it makes sense for it to be a secondary weapon).
