Nothing more satisfying then ending some ones spree with a swift fiery knife to the face whilst you are out of range for their gun

Incendiary blades also help to kill bladedancers if you didn't know, as the fire lingers.

I'll have to remember that. Usually my tactic is to run away screaming.

I have my throwing perks as, extra knife and the ignite knife
I've got some amazing shots with my knives and I'm pretty well practiced now.

The key is to get 1 initial shot off first and instantly throw knife, the first shot lowers shield enough that the knife impact will just about kill them with the ignite finishing them off. You can also resume firing after throwing.

This coupled with thorn perk (which I have yet to complete the strike to obtain) would be a game changer.
Plus I have 100% discipline so my grenade cools down really quick, and my perks on armour cool down Melee timer with grenade damage.

I just really wish the throwing knife counted as Melee attack in crucible.

To clarify, I LOVE it when it works. I have a few great clips of me taking down whole swarms of smaller enemies with it (with the instant reset perk), and I definitely was yelling gleefully when those happened. But the combination of the throwing knife and the standard melee is very unreliable. I like to come around a corner fast and melee immediately to hit an enemy who's hiding there, and often in that situation where my warlock definitely would have connected, the hunter throws a knife instead because either I wasn't lined up JUST right, or I did it too fast or something. So now, not only did I not hit the enemy (who is now attacking me), but I've just lost the cooldown on the throwing knife as well. Argh.

Would it have been better to have the throwing knife be one of the grenade options? That mix-up scenario wouldn't happen if they were on different buttons. Maybe replace the swarm grenade? I like swarm's mechanism in theory, but the enemies have to be SO CLOSE for it to track that I feel like I'm more likely to hit them using the standard grenade.

Weird. Yeah, I was just about to reply that it does work, at least for the PvE bounties. I don't understand why that wouldn't be uniform - might be that it isn't intentional?

Why does this not count as a Melee attack?
