The weekly and the nightfall have always consisted of a random strike. I don't see how this is a big deal tbh. The odds are in your favor that it will be non dlc content. Obviously bungie wanted it to be dlc content this week to reward players that bought it, to mix things up, and to encourage dlc purchases. I guarantee we will be back to nightfall on sepiks next week.

The fact that the game just got smaller for everyone who doesn't pay up is what there is to be conciliatory about.

However, I read the rest of this thread and am much less mad. Double however, I see no reason why there can't be an alternate weekly Strike for those without the expansion. Meh.

Anyone on any console can purchase the Dark below, but they cant switch over to ps4.

Right, but how hard is it to put up a regular strike as nightfall (at level 28!) for those who don't have the DLC? It also kind of baffles me that Dust Palace can't be put in the rotation.

So for a week, the strike is different for DLC and non DLC people (or Xbox and PS4 people). Why is that a problem?

Yeah, I'm not how they thought it was cool to do this. It baffles me that it doesn't go like this:

1. Folks who don't buy DLC keep exactly what they have. If they get more, all the better!
2. Folks who buy the DLC get more stuff.

You are only allowed to give, never take away. Doesn't seem that hard to understand.

If you do have the DLC, they'll INITIALLY be locked pending completion of some items from Eris. I imagine this is just a way to make sure people play the story content before the strikes, since (from what I hear) some new mechanics are introduced there, and the story in the missions is supposed to lead up to the strike, and subsequently the raid.

If you don't have the DLC, they'll be unavailable THIS WEEK, because the weekly heroic and weekly nightfall this week happen to be the strike that comes with the DLC. Obviously, those who do not have the DLC yet won't be accessing them.

I do think some people are mixing up these two scenarios (not the OP, necessarily, though I think the thread title makes it sound like weekly and nightfall are locked out permanently).

Oh! I thought I wouldn't be able to do ANY weeklies or nightfalls until I got the DLC. If I just have to wait for my content to roll around that's fair. I was never angry by the by. Just disappointed. I'm too mild mannered to be angered by a game.

It's totally reasonable that the new content is the featured content for a bit. If you don't have the content, well, you get a week or two off haha.

The strike this time is a strike that comes with the DLC. If you don't have the DLC, I don't see how you could play it.

Shitty! If you don't own the DLC it should give you a nightfall strike you can play. This week's strike is on an expansion strike. It's even shittier because the level 26 playlist requires the DLC, but only it drops engrams now. That's right, if you didn't buy the DLC, you don't get engram drops as rewards in strike playlists anymore. yesterday if you ran a level 24 playlist, you could get stuff. Now you can't.

That's shitty.
