This can be done to farm any material. I also used this to farm spin metal. That run is even better cause you can link 4 spin metal and a chest. I can post that if you guys are interested.

Edit: In my next farming video (spin metal/chest run) i'll show not only how to make a line, but what happens when you change the order you get them, adding additional nodes/chest, and what happens when other players come into your area and how to continue to farm around them. Good luck guys.
