Possible date found on MRE. (reply)

MREs last like 20 years right? Or maybe one date is production date and the other expiration. Where is this found?

Opening on Mars says present day. Anyways, kind of weird for an MRE from 2004/6 to still be intact and laying around several centuries after production. Maybe .004 actually means 3004, the bottom thing looks like it might actually say 200B 05 15.

Possible date found on MRE. (reply)

Which one is which?

That's what I'm wondering.

It's either "October 1st, _004" or "May 15th, 2006"

If it's the latter, then humanity's Golden Age was in our past?

If it's the first (and there isn't supposed to be a first digit inferred in the year) perhaps it's October 1st, four years after the Traveler arrived? Would be weird to put the zeros in there though.

Maybe humanity changed the way they format dates once we entered our Golden Age? I'm not sure what the 4D is.

These might also not be dates at all.
