I think you need to do some research on the meaning of the term "hacked," and the nature of a DDoS attack.

Also, not that I make it a policy to defend Activision, but do you really think the ONLY reason Destiny has an online requirement is because they mandated "online multiplayer in every game?" You do realize that it's possible to have online multiplayer without the ENTIRE game being online, right? Destiny has the online requirement because Bungie designed it that way, for better or worse.

I agree. Some games have no reason to be always online (looking at you Simcity) but Destiny has good reason to be always online, at least from the perspective of what they were trying to achieve with the game.

Getting angry at Bungie about this doesn't make a lot of sense here, its not their fault people get some real jollies out of trying to spoil other peoples fun.

Right, we should blame Bungie, and not the people breaking the law... that makes perfect sense!

I got robbed the other day walking to the store, but it's not the mugger's fault, it's Wal-Mart's because they don't allow me to buy groceries in my house!

You knew it was an online only game, if you're not willing to put up with the VERY occasional issues that go along with that, don't buy it.

Online should not be mandatory! I didn't buy Titanfall because I didn't want a game with no offline function. I hate that I can't pause or play offline in Destiny. STOP REQUIRING ONLINE MULTIPLAYER, BUNGIE!!!!!

It's bullshit, yeah, but you knew what you were getting into when you purchased an online-only game. Any online game, regardless if it has an offline component or not, will be subject to servers having errors, under maintenance, or even whatever the hell is going on right now. This isn't anything new nor should you have expected anything more.
