I went almost a year, with a 6 month stretch of no job whatsoever. Probably the most depressing 6 months I've ever been through... Then I worked the Christmas rush for the post office, that was the most depressing 2 weeks ever.

I can't imagine living that for 3 years, then again, I can't art.
